Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, I migrated with my family to Augusta, Georgia in June 1989. There I attended high school and the Augusta Technical Institute where I began studying graphic design and printing production. After completing the program at Augusta Tech, I worked for a local commercial printing company in the production department. I gained experience and understanding of the printing press and binding processes. Later an opportunity came along to work as assistant photographer and apprentice and I delved into photography and learned about lighting, the camera, and managing people in a creative environment. I shoot photos for editorial content at a local newspaper for which later on I worked as layout artist and advertising designer. It was while working at the publication that I decided to further my studies and moved to Atlanta to attend school. I graduated with a bachelors of fine arts in visual communication while working for a long standing award-winning Atlanta based Hispanic newspaper, as graphic designer.
Because of my interest in publication and multimedia I decided to explore web design. After working freelance I went on to further my studies by seeking a masters degree in new media design at the Academy of Art University. I’ve also founded and co-own Fifth House Solutions a graphic and web design company, and work part-time as adjunct instructor of graphic design at a Westwood College in Atlanta.
